Ken Heuvelman
MS, LPC, CAADC, CCS
Ken is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). He was recognized as the 2025 CAADC Of The Year by the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) and as the 2025 ICAADC Of The Year International Credentialing and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC).
He currently works as an Outpatient Therapist with Professional Counseling Center in Port Huron, MI, and is the founder and sole employee of Ad Populum Consulting & Counseling.
Ken has a Masters in Psychology from Montana State University – Billings and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and has been working in the behavioral health field for over ten years. He has worked within outpatient SUD treatment facilities and at acute care psychiatric hospitals, has provided in-home counseling services, helped develop community based outreach and intervention programs, and worked as the SUD Director with the managed care entity Region 10 PIHP.
In the community, Mr. Heuvelman volunteers his time to work on the St. Clair County Overdose Fatality Review Team and as a board member for the suicide prevention organization Six Feet Over. He also engages in speaking and research opportunities to advocate for the expansion of access to behavioral health treatment and to develop and implement innovative approaches to reduce the community impact of opioid overdose. In the past, Ken was Chair of the St. Clair County Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery workgroup, and was a member of the St. Clair County Health Department’s Advisory Board from 2023 through 2024.
